Cyanotypes

The beauty of cyanotypes is that they render a size ratio of 1:1, image to subject. The size that you see of the image is the size of the algae. The seaweeds are exposed on silk, paper or cotton. When the silk moves, it emulates the movement of the algae under water seemingly bringing the algae to life.

Photography

The photographs are either taken by a phone or conventional camera or via an electron microscope and printed on various materials: vellum paper, as in the image above, or on photographic paper.

Prints

The prints are either aquatints, lithographs, etchings or rubbings, using intaglio ink.
